    A national park is a large area of land that is protected by the government. National parks are home to a variety of plants and animals, and they provide opportunities for recreation and education. National parks are often referred to as “living museums” because they preserve the natural world for future generations.

    Arunachal Pradesh has two national parks:

    Namdapha National Park

    Namdapha National Park is the fourth-largest national park in India, covering an area of 1985 square kilometers. It is located in the Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, along the India-Myanmar border. The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, clouded leopards, and red pandas.

    The park is home to 375 types of birds, 108 types of mammals, 54 types of reptiles, 5 amphibians and a diversity of fish. Several wildlife species such as the red panda, clouded leopard, white-bellied hornbill, Asian golden leaf monkey, hoolock gibbons, gaur, musk deer, sloth bear, Asian elephant, tiger, common leopard, Hornbill bird found in the national park.

    Here are some of the activities that visitors can enjoy in Namdapha National Park:

    • Jungle trekking: The park has a number of trekking trails that range in difficulty from easy to challenging. These trails offer visitors the opportunity to see the park’s diverse wildlife and scenery.
    • Bird watching: The park is home to a wide variety of birds, making it a popular destination for bird watchers.
    • Wildlife photography: The park’s diverse wildlife makes it a great place to take wildlife photographs.
    • Camping: Camping is allowed in certain areas of the park. This is a great way to experience the park’s natural beauty.

    Mouling National Park

    Mouling National Park is located in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, covering an area of 1000 square kilometers. The park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, clouded leopards, and red pandas.

    The park is also home to several plant species, including orchids, medicinal plants, and timber trees. Some of the animals available in the national park are Royal Bengal tiger, Indian giant squirrel, gaur, red panda, Asian elephant, wild boar, Indian hog deer, barking deer, leopard, spotted deer, sloth bear, Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard, hoolock gibbon, capped langur, slow loris, common hoopoe, hornbill, great hornbill, racket-tailed drongo, greater racket-tailed drongo, emerald green woodpecker, white-winged wood duck, red junglefowl, Mrs. Gould’s sunbird, black-necked crane.
